Documentation is evidence, but not validation
Canonical technical documentation can establish that a feature exists, how it is triggered, and where approval occurs. It cannot by itself establish accuracy, workload reduction, or production effectiveness. ASI therefore keeps source class, evidence maturity, independence, and assertion support confidence separate.
The executive ladder
EARLY means the record is dominated by vendor claims or documentation. EMERGING requires broader evidence categories but still lacks qualifying independent validation. SUBSTANTIATED requires reproducible independent evaluation. VALIDATED requires stronger independent benchmark or effectiveness evidence. The label is deterministic and conservative.
The Dropzone study example
The Cloud Security Alliance study is meaningful external evidence: it used simulated scenarios and compared analysts with and without Dropzone AI. It is recorded as E3 benchmark evidence. Disclosures are insufficient to derive full independence, and the study measured analyst assistance rather than autonomous ticket closure. It therefore does not validate the separate vendor claim that most tier-one tickets close autonomously.
Buyer use
Ask which exact claim was measured, who selected the method, who operated the test, whether the environment was public, and whether the result can be reproduced. NONE_FOUND means the governed corpus has no qualifying record. UNKNOWN means the available evidence does not establish either a positive or negative conclusion.
